Located off the coast of Doljo, Panglao, Puntod Island is a famous dive haven known for its spectacular fish life, splendid slope dives and fabulous coral walls. Here you’ll find nothing but marvelous, trouble free and shallow dive sites. The sites are also good for snorkeling especially when the weather condition is ideal.
Puntod is an ideal spot for macro photography, reason why underwater photographers consider the site as a paradise. The island is a favorite place of tourists and local visitors as well.
One of the highlights of Puntod Island is the Pungtud Wall that is situated at the outer edge of the island. From an average depth of 33 meters to the maximum of 65 meters deep, you will be captivated by the beautiful coral garden slopes found here. You should definitely not miss the stunning and the breathtaking underwater scenery filled with sightings of must-see marine species including ribbon eels, scorpionfish, fusiliers, angelfish, butterflyfish, pufferfish, clownfish, wrasse, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, nudibranches and lots of small colorful fish. In the shallower portions, you’ll find amazing soft and hard coral formations you will never forget.
Getting to this site is really easy. The main island of Puntod is accessible by air and sea travel. To get in Pungtud Wall, you just have to take a banca, travel time is approximately 35 minutes west.
